Baby's First Latte (or, Social Hour at the Columbia City Bakery)

The Columbia City Bakery was closed on Monday and Tuesday, so Shannon and I had to wait until this morning to head down for hot latte, fruit and cream danish, and savory Gruyere croissant. As soon as we walked in we were deluged by the staff, who have seen Shannon's belly swell progressively over the last 9 months, as well as the various vintage-dressed hipstermoms who wouldn't ever talk to us until we walked in, babe in arms. Shannon was the star of the show as she regaled everyone with her birth story. We're in the club now.

Shannon is still enjoying her return to the world of caffeine. As for sleepy Clara, all we can say is that all that commotion made the bakery, for her, the coziest place in the world.
